TED Explores: A New Climate Vision
With a degree in Environmental Studies, There We Go’s founder Rob Meyer has long been looking for opportunities to combine his passion for filmmaking with his deep concern for the earth and the climate. In 2023, There We Go started a partnership with TED: Countdown, a global initiative that champions and accelerates solutions to the climate crisis. Their brand of active optimism and storytelling proved to be a great fit for There We Go.
The goal was to help TED move beyond the stage and create a series that used the tools of cinema to help tell powerful stories that could help bring about real change.
Alongside Jonathan Mallow, Director of TED Ideas Studio, we helped develop a new series called TED Explores, which could take on different topics, piggybacking on the incredible conferences and access to experts that are unique to TED.
Hosted by NPR Superstar Manoush Zomorodi, TED Explores launched with an hour-long special: A New Climate Vision. The follow-up, TED Explores: Food for the Future explores the ways in which our food system and climate are more entwined than most people think.
The series was nominated for a Webby and an Emmy, garnered millions of views on TED, was broadcast on PBS and was even screen at an International COP conference.
